How to Remove Your BeenVerified Subscription

A step-by-step guide to cancelling a BeenVerified subscription and opting out of its people search listings, plus what to expect afterwards.

There are two different things people mean by "remove my BeenVerified subscription". One is cancelling the paid plan so you stop being charged. The other is opting out of the BeenVerified listing that shows your own name, address and relatives. This guide covers both, because most people want both done.

Start with whichever applies to you. If you signed up to search for someone and now want the billing to stop, do the cancellation first. If a listing about you appears on the site, skip to the opt-out section.

Cancel the paid subscription

BeenVerified bills on a recurring basis, so simply not using the account does not stop the charges. You have to cancel the plan itself.

  1. Sign in to your BeenVerified account using the email address you registered with.
  2. Open your account or settings area. Look for a billing, subscription or membership section.
  3. Find the option to cancel or turn off automatic renewal. Follow the prompts through to the end.
  4. Look for a confirmation message or email. If you do not get one, the cancellation may not have gone through.

If you cannot find the cancellation control, or the account will not let you proceed, contact BeenVerified customer support directly through the contact details listed in their help section. Ask them in writing to cancel the subscription and to confirm in writing when it is done. Keep that confirmation.

If you are being charged and can no longer access the account at all, contact your bank or card provider. Explain that it is a recurring subscription you want stopped, and ask about blocking further payments from that merchant.

Check for charges after cancelling

Watch your next one or two billing cycles. A cancellation should stop future charges, but it does not usually refund a period you have already paid for. If you see a charge after you cancelled, raise it with support and, if needed, dispute it with your card provider.

Opt out of your BeenVerified listing

Cancelling the subscription does not remove the profile the site holds about you. That listing exists whether or not you ever had an account. To take it down, use the opt-out process.

  1. Go to the BeenVerified opt-out page. It is reachable from the privacy or opt-out link in the site footer.
  2. Search for your own record. Enter your name and location so you can find the correct listing.
  3. Select the listing that matches you. Be careful to pick the right one if several people share your name.
  4. Confirm your request. The site will usually ask for an email address to send a verification link.
  5. Open the verification email and click the link to confirm. The removal is not processed until you complete this step.

After you confirm, the listing should be suppressed within a short period. If the record is still visible after a reasonable time, repeat the process or use the support contact to follow up.

A note on email verification

The opt-out asks for an email so it can send a confirmation link. Use an address you can access. You do not need to hand over more than is required to complete the step. If a field is optional, leave it blank.

Why the listing may come back

This is the part most guides skip. Opting out is not permanent.

BeenVerified does not create its data from nothing. It pulls from upstream sources: other data brokers, marketing databases and public records feeds. When those feeds refresh, the profile can be rebuilt even after you opted out. In practice, listings often reappear within a few months.

That is not a sign you did anything wrong. It is how the people search industry works. The only reliable approach is to treat opting out as maintenance rather than a one-time fix. Check back periodically and submit a fresh opt-out whenever your listing returns.

What cannot be removed

Some of the information shown on these sites comes from public records. Court filings, property ownership, business registrations and voter rolls are public by law. You cannot delete the underlying records through BeenVerified or anyone else.

What you can do is remove the broker's packaged version of that information from their site. That reduces how easily someone finds it in one place. But the original public record stays where it is.

Do both, and keep records

If your goal is to stop paying and to stop appearing on the site, you need both steps. They are handled separately.

  • Cancellation stops the billing.
  • Opt-out suppresses the listing about you.

Keep a short log as you go: the date you cancelled, the confirmation you received, the date you submitted the opt-out and the email used. If something reappears or a charge turns up later, that record makes the follow-up far quicker.

Handling it at scale

BeenVerified is one site among many. The same underlying data usually appears on a dozen or more people search services, each with its own opt-out process. Doing them all by hand, then repeating the checks every few months, is slow but entirely possible.

If you would rather not track it manually, Vanish is a Mac app that finds where brokers publish your details and sends CCPA deletion demands for you. It is one option for automating the repeat work. The manual steps above cost nothing and work on their own.

Quick summary

  • Cancel the subscription through the billing section of your account, and confirm the charges have stopped.
  • Opt out separately through the opt-out page, and complete the email verification.
  • Expect the listing to return within a few months, and re-submit when it does.
  • Public records behind the listing cannot be deleted.

Common questions

Does cancelling my BeenVerified subscription remove my listing?

No. Cancelling only stops the billing. The profile showing your personal details exists independently of any account, so you have to use the separate opt-out process to suppress it.

How long does the BeenVerified opt-out take to work?

After you confirm the verification email, the listing is usually suppressed within a short period. If it is still visible after a reasonable wait, repeat the request or contact support to follow up.

Why did my information come back after I opted out?

BeenVerified rebuilds records from upstream sources like other brokers and public records feeds. When those refresh, your profile can reappear, often within a few months. Re-submit the opt-out when it does.

Can I get a refund after cancelling?

Cancelling stops future charges but does not usually refund a period you have already paid for. If you see a charge after cancelling, raise it with support and, if needed, dispute it with your card provider.

What if I can no longer log in to cancel?

Contact BeenVerified support directly and ask in writing to cancel the subscription. If charges continue, contact your bank or card provider and ask about blocking further payments from that merchant.
