How to Delete Your BeenVerified Account

A step-by-step guide to deleting your BeenVerified account and opting your personal information out of their people search listings.

To delete your BeenVerified account, sign in and cancel any active membership first, then contact their customer support to request account closure. This removes your login and billing details. Opting your personal information out of their search results is a separate process, handled through their opt-out page.

These two things get confused often, so it helps to be clear about what you actually want. Deleting your account closes the profile you created and stops future charges. It does not remove the listing that shows your name, address and relatives to other people who search the site. That listing exists whether or not you ever signed up.

Delete your BeenVerified account

If you created a paid membership or a free account, follow these steps to close it.

  1. Sign in to your BeenVerified account with the email address you registered.
  2. Open your account or profile settings. Look for a section covering membership, subscription or billing.
  3. Cancel any active membership before you close the account. If you skip this, you may keep getting billed even after the profile is gone.
  4. Look for an option to delete or close the account. If there is no self-service button, you will need to contact support directly.
  5. Contact BeenVerified customer support and ask them to delete your account. Use the contact method listed on their site. State clearly that you want the account closed and any stored data removed.
  6. Ask for written confirmation that the account has been deleted and that recurring billing has stopped.

Keep any confirmation email or reference number. If a charge appears afterwards, that record is what you use to dispute it with support or your bank.

Opt out of BeenVerified search listings

This is the step most people actually care about. Deleting your account does nothing to the public-facing listing. To have your information removed from BeenVerified search results, use their opt-out process.

  1. Go to the BeenVerified opt-out page. It is usually linked in the site footer under a heading like privacy, opt-out or do not sell my information.
  2. Search for your own listing. You will normally enter your name and location to find the record that matches you.
  3. Select the listing that shows your details. Check the age, city and relatives to make sure it is you and not someone with the same name.
  4. Follow the removal request steps. You will typically be asked to confirm the request by email, so use an address you can check.
  5. Open the confirmation email and click the verification link. The request is not processed until you confirm it.
  6. Note the date. Removals are not always instant, and it can take some time for the listing to drop out of search results.

If you find more than one listing for yourself, submit a separate request for each. BeenVerified treats each record individually, and duplicates are common when you have lived at several addresses.

What removal does not cover

Some of the information BeenVerified shows comes from public records. Court filings, property ownership records, corporate registrations and voter rolls are public by law. You cannot have these deleted. An opt-out stops BeenVerified from displaying that data in its own product, but the underlying public record stays where it is, and other sites may still show it.

This matters because your listing draws on feeds that BeenVerified does not control. Removing yourself from their site does not touch the source.

Be honest about how long this lasts

An opt-out is not permanent. Data brokers rebuild their records from upstream feeds, public records and other listings they buy in bulk. Even after a successful removal, your information often reappears within a few months as fresh data flows in. This is normal and it is not a sign you did anything wrong.

The practical answer is to treat removal as maintenance rather than a one-time job. Set a reminder to search for yourself again every few months. If your listing has come back, submit the opt-out again. It is repetitive, but it works.

A few tips that save time

  • Use a dedicated email address for opt-out confirmations. It keeps the verification links separate from your main inbox and makes them easy to find.
  • Write down every site you have opted out of and the date. When listings reappear, you will know exactly what to recheck.
  • Search from a browser where you are not logged in. This shows you what a stranger sees, not a personalised view.
  • Do not pay for a faster removal. The standard opt-out is free, and paying does not make the result more permanent.

BeenVerified is one of many

BeenVerified is part of a large network of people search sites, and several are run by the same companies or share the same data suppliers. Removing yourself from one does not remove you from the rest. If your goal is to reduce how easily someone can find your details, you will need to repeat this process across many brokers, then keep doing it.

Doing that by hand is slow. Vanish is a Mac app that finds where data brokers publish your personal information and sends CCPA deletion demands on your behalf, then rechecks over time as listings return. It is one way to handle the repeat work without tracking every site yourself.

Whether you use a tool or do it manually, the method is the same: close the account, opt out of the listing, keep a record, and check again in a few months.

Common questions

Does deleting my BeenVerified account remove my public listing?

No. Deleting your account closes the profile you created and stops billing, but it does not touch the search listing that shows your name and details to other people. You have to use the separate opt-out process for that.

How long does a BeenVerified opt-out take?

It varies. After you confirm the request through the verification email, the listing can take some time to drop out of search results. Check back after a couple of weeks to confirm it is gone.

Will my information stay off BeenVerified permanently?

No. Data brokers rebuild their records from public records and bulk data feeds, so listings often reappear within a few months. Treat opting out as ongoing maintenance and recheck periodically.

Can I remove public records from BeenVerified?

You can stop BeenVerified from displaying them, but you cannot delete the underlying records. Court filings, property records, corporate registrations and voter rolls are public by law and remain at the source.

Do I need to pay to opt out of BeenVerified?

No. The opt-out is free. Paying for a faster or premium removal does not make the result more permanent, since the data can return through upstream feeds regardless.
