How to Cancel a BeenVerified Trial

Cancel your BeenVerified trial before it renews, avoid the recurring charge, and remove your own information from their people search listings.

To cancel a BeenVerified trial, sign in to your account, open the account or membership settings, and choose the option to cancel the membership. Cancel before the trial period ends, or the card you registered will be charged for the first full month.

BeenVerified sells its trials as low-cost, time-limited access to reports. The trial converts into a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel it. The steps below cover cancelling, confirming the cancellation, and separately removing your own details from the site.

Cancel the trial through your account

The most reliable route is inside your logged-in account. Do this from a desktop browser if you can, because the mobile view sometimes hides menu items.

  1. Go to the BeenVerified website and sign in with the email address and password you used to start the trial.
  2. Open your account menu. Look for a label such as account settings, my account, or membership. It is usually reached from your name or an icon in the top corner of the page.
  3. Find the section that shows your membership or billing status.
  4. Select the option to cancel your membership or subscription.
  5. Follow the prompts. You may be asked to give a reason or to confirm the cancellation more than once. Keep going until you reach a final confirmation.
  6. Look for an on-screen message confirming the membership is cancelled, and note the date access ends.

After cancelling, you often keep access until the trial period would have ended. That is normal. The point is that no further charge is taken.

Cancel by phone if the online option is missing

If you cannot find a cancel button, or the account settings will not load, BeenVerified operates a customer support line. The number is listed on their contact or support page. Have your account email and the last few digits of the card you used to hand, as they will use these to find your record.

When you call, ask directly for the trial to be cancelled and for no further billing. Ask the representative to confirm the cancellation in writing by email. That email is your proof if a charge appears later.

Confirm you will not be charged

Do not assume the job is done just because you clicked a button. Check the following.

  • Look for a confirmation email. If none arrives within a day, sign back in and check the membership status again.
  • Check your card or bank statement over the next billing cycle. A cancelled trial should produce no new charge after the trial window closes.
  • Keep any confirmation number or screenshot. Save the cancellation email if you get one.
If a charge appears after you cancelled, contact BeenVerified support with your confirmation details. If they will not refund it, you can dispute the charge with your bank or card provider.

Cancelling the trial is not the same as removing your data

Ending the trial stops you paying. It does nothing about the listing BeenVerified holds on you. If you started a trial to check what the site shows about you, that record stays live for anyone else who searches. You have to opt out separately.

Opt out of BeenVerified listings

  1. Find the BeenVerified opt-out page. It is on their site, usually reachable from a privacy or do-not-sell link in the page footer.
  2. Search for your own record using your name and location.
  3. Select the listing that matches you. Check the details carefully so you claim the right one.
  4. Complete the opt-out request. You will normally need to give an email address so they can send a verification link.
  5. Open the verification email and click the link to confirm. The request is not processed until you do this.

Processing takes time. Check back after a couple of weeks to see whether the listing has gone. If it is still visible, repeat the search, because the same person can appear under more than one record.

Why the listing comes back

An opt-out is not permanent. BeenVerified and sites like it rebuild their profiles from upstream data feeds, marketing lists and other public sources. Even after a successful removal, your details commonly reappear within a few months as those feeds refresh. This is not a fault on your part. It is how the industry works. Plan to repeat the opt-out on a schedule rather than treating it as a one-off.

Some of what these sites publish is drawn from public records. Court filings, property records, corporate registrations and voter rolls are public by law and cannot be deleted at the source. A broker can be made to stop republishing them, but the underlying records remain public.

A note on the wider problem

BeenVerified is one site among many. The same personal details you just removed there are usually published by dozens of other people search sites, each with its own opt-out process. Removing yourself from one does little to reduce your overall exposure.

Doing this by hand across every broker, then repeating it as listings return, is slow work. Vanish is a Mac app that finds where data brokers publish your personal information and sends CCPA deletion demands on your behalf, then keeps watching for reappearances. It is an automated alternative to the manual process above, not a replacement for cancelling your trial, which you still need to do yourself.

Quick summary

  • Cancel the trial from your account settings, or by phone if the option is hidden.
  • Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge.
  • Get written confirmation and check your statement next cycle.
  • Opt out separately to remove your own listing, and verify by email.
  • Expect listings to return over time and repeat the opt-out.

Common questions

Will I be charged if I cancel during the trial?

No, provided you cancel before the trial period ends. Cancelling stops the trial from converting into a paid subscription. You often keep access until the original end date, but no new charge should be taken after that.

Can I get a refund if I was already charged?

If a charge appeared after you thought you had cancelled, contact BeenVerified support with your account details and any cancellation confirmation. If they refuse to refund it, you can dispute the charge with your bank or card provider.

Does cancelling my trial remove my information from BeenVerified?

No. Cancelling only stops billing. To remove your own listing you must use the separate opt-out process on their site, which requires you to find your record and confirm the request by email.

How long does the BeenVerified opt-out take to work?

It is not instant. After you verify the request by email, allow a couple of weeks and then check whether the listing has gone. You may find more than one record for yourself, so search again to catch duplicates.

Why did my information come back after I removed it?

People search sites rebuild their profiles from upstream data feeds and public sources. Details commonly reappear within a few months as those feeds refresh, so the opt-out needs to be repeated rather than done once.
